Despite the challenges of remote work, our staff used technology to communicate, support, offer advice, and suggest partnerships to get the job done in 2020 as required by our many community needs. Thanks to your generosity, nonprofits meeting the most basic needs of residents were awarded $1,110,347 in 2020 through the Greater Flint Urgent Relief Fund.
In partnership with United Way of Genesee County, and the generosity of a $1 million gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, more urgent relief grants were made. We ended the year with another amazing opportunity to leverage more resources into community with the acceptance of a $2.3 million CARES Act grant to support a year-end Rapid Relief Initiative.
